Stacy Cobb-Muñiz was appointed to the Eastpointe City Council on January 17, 2023. Prior to her appointment to City Council, she served as the Chair of the Board of Ethics (2020-2023) and as a Commissioner on the Planning Commission (2022-2023). A wife and mother of two, Stacy and her family have been residents of Eastpointe for 10 years.

Stacy earned dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Spring Arbor University in 1994, a Juris Doctor in Law from Wayne State University Law School in 2000, and a Master of Arts in Alternative Dispute Resolution with certification in facilitative mediation from Wayne State University in 2001. She is also licensed and ordained in the ministry.

Stacy is grateful to be an asset to the Eastpointe community as an active resident. With diverse leadership experience and vast academic achievements, her heart is to serve. Stacy continues to serve as a member of Eastpointe Friends of the Library, Eastpointe Community Chest Networking Forum, Eastpointe Rotary, and Eastpointe Community Action Coalition. She serves on the executive committee of the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) and represents the City of Eastpointe as the city council’s SEMCOG, Southeast Macomb Sanitary District, and South Macomb Disposal Authority as an alternate liaison. She is a member and advocate of the Michigan Black Caucus of Local Elected Officers, Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance, and the Michigan Municipal League.

In her short tenure on City Council, Stacy championed the adoption of the first Eastpointe Teen Advisory Commission, the reinstatement of the Senior Citizens Advisory Commission, and the addition of the Eastpointe Excellence Awards to recognize and honor outstanding citizens and employees in the Eastpointe community.

Stacy’s goal in serving the Eastpointe community is to increase economic and community development, bridge small business investment, support progressive infrastructure improvement, and increase community engagement in governmental operations. Stacy is excited about the opportunity to serve Eastpointe.
